Frequently Asked Questions

(for Hyperion Managed Funds)

BEFORE YOU INVEST:

What time frame should I be considering for my investment?

You should consider investing for greater than 5 years to make the most of your Hyperion investment. Our investment approach is aimed at maximising the likelihood of creating portfolios that will produce above benchmark returns over rolling 5 year periods. We focus on the level of predictability of a company’s medium term future economic performance because the more predictable the future cash flows, the more confident we will be that our forecasts will be achieved.

What do Hyperion funds invest in?

Hyperion’s core business is as a high conviction growth manager that specialises in identifying and investing in quality Australian equities. Our investment process produces a relatively concentrated portfolio of predictable, high calibre companies with superior growth potential. We do also offer funds that invest in a broad range of asset classes including Australian equities, overseas equities, fixed interest, cash and property using specialist fund managers for those assets other than Australian equities. We pay reduced, wholesale investor fees to those specialist fund managers due to the size of our investments.

What are the risks of investing?

Almost any investment involves risk and you should be aware that investments will rise and fall in value. As a consequence, investors may lose capital or not receive a return over a given time frame. Depending on the weighting of investments in particular assets, each of the funds will have different earnings and risk profiles. For a full discussion about the risks of investing in Hyperion’s products please refer to “The Risks” section of the relevant PDS.

How will I be kept up-to-date about my investment?

As an investor, you will receive monthly statements, distribution statements (when the fund distributes), quarterly reports and end of financial year tax statements from Hyperion. We also encourage investors to regularly visit our website, www.hyperionam.com.au, for news about Hyperion, further information including our monthly Satellite Report which has a commentary from our Investment Team on the market and our holdings and annual accounts for the funds.

MAKING AN INVESTMENT:

How do I make an initial investment?

There are two ways to make an initial investment but both require you to complete the application form in the appropriate Product Disclosure Statement (PDS) for the fund in which you wish to invest. If you use a financial adviser, they can lodge your application via one of the many Investor Directed Portfolio Services (IDPS) and help facilitate all steps within the application process. If you wish to invest directly with Hyperion, please complete the application form at the back of the PDS and forward it to the address on the application form including your cheque or money order.

Each fund's PDS containing an application form can be downloaded from our website (please click here) or contact Client Services at clientservices@hyperionam.com.au or tel: 1300 550 293.

Hyperion will send you confirmation of your initial investment with your investor number.

Is there a minimum investment amount?

Generally the minimum initial investment is $50,000 but can be less if you are investing via an IDPS, master fund or wrap account operated by your financial adviser.

Are there any establishment or termination of investment fees?

No, Hyperion does not charge fees for establishing or terminating the account or if you make additional contributions or withdrawals. For a full discussion about fees, please refer to “Fees and Other Costs” in the relevant PDS.

How do I add funds to my existing investment?
