Who is Hyperion

Hyperion Asset Management Limited is a boutique Australian equities asset manager offering clients a different perspective… a focus on high alpha generation investment returns based on high conviction stock selection and supported by rigorous research. We are:

  • Benchmark insensitive;
  • Focused on delivering high alpha returns across a complete business cycle;
  • Research driven with a bottom-up investment process which identifies quality companies;
  • Process driven where the construction of the portfolios is a direct outcome of our proprietary process with companies weighted according their risk adjusted 5 year prospects;
  • A dedicated and experienced team with a substantial investment in our own funds;
  • Stable given we have not had any staff turnover within the core investment management team since inception of the business.

Our investment objective is to deliver high excess returns above the benchmark across the business cycle.

The name Hyperion is derived from Saturn’s satellite moon, Hyperion. The satellite Hyperion is unique in our solar system because it is neither perfectly spherical nor is its orbit elliptical as with most other satellites. In short, it is very different.

We consider ourselves different to other managers. Our consistent deep growth style, benchmark insensitivity and long term horizon ensures that within a diversified portfolio we are a good choice as a satellite fund manager to:

  • Generate high excess returns above the benchmark;
  • Supply negative correlation to other Australian equity managers.

In addition, Hyperion remains a business interest of the Wilson HTM Investment Group via Wilson HTM's investment management subsidiary, Pinnacle Investment Management Limited. Wilson HTM has been operating since 1885 which makes it one of Australia’s longest standing independently-owned investment houses.

Hyperion out-sources a bulk of its administrative functions to the Wilson HTM Investment Group, leaving Hyperion’s staff to focus on our core business of generating investment returns for our clients.
