Art Gallery of New South Wales

Hyperion is supporting the important conservation work of the Art Gallery of NSW by funding the restoration of one of the Gallery’s key pieces “David’s First Victory” painted by William Strutt. Strutt was an English born painter who spent 12 years of his life in Australia before returning to England where he painted “David’s First Victory” in 1868. Strutt’s painting shows the Biblical hero triumphant over the dead lion and bear, while the sheep and goats bleat their thanksgiving.

The painting was acquired by the Gallery in 1974 and needs repairs to the canvas, cleaning and a new frame.

Australian Chamber Orchestra

Since 1975, the Australian Chamber Orchestra’s unique artistic style encompasses not only the masterworks of the classical repertoire, but innovative cross-artform projects and a vigorous commissioning program.

Hyperion is proud to be an ongoing sponsor of the Principal Cello chair as part of the Australian Chamber Orchestra’s Medici Program.

CMSF

The Conference of Major Superannuation Funds (CMSF) is a major institutional superannuation conference held each year. CMSF was founded in 1990 by representatives of major corporate, public sector and industry superannuation funds to provide an educational forum through a national Conference that has a focus on trustees and the issues that concern them.

Hyperion is a bronze sponsor of CMSF.

Daniel Trollope

Daniel Trollope, a promising young Queensland rugby player, was involved in a tragic diving accident a few years ago, which left him paralysed from the waist down. Daniel’s main goal in 2009 is to race in the Gold Coast Half Ironman which is held in October and the Noosa triathlon in November. He is also working towards finishing his University degree in Criminology and Criminal Justice. Longer term, Daniel is focused on track and road racing and hopes to make the 2012 London team. Hyperion has agreed to sponsor Daniel by providing the funding for him to upgrade his wheelchair and pay for necessary interstate travel to qualifying races.
